About Dadu's Bombay Mixture
Bombay Mixture is the gold standard of Indian namkeen. A blend of sev, fried dals, groundnuts, green peas, and spiced gram flour crunchies, it is the snack that has sat on Indian tea tables for generations and never gone out of fashion. At Dadu's, Bombay Mixture is made entirely in-house. Every component, from the sev to the fried dals to the groundnuts, is prepared fresh at the Hyderabad facility before being combined and packed. We do not buy pre-made components from wholesale suppliers and assemble them. Each element of the mixture is made to the Dadu's recipe and standard before it goes into the final blend. Balanced Spicing, Not Just Heat
There is a tendency in commercial namkeen to default to chilli heat as the primary flavour. Dadu's Bombay Mixture is spiced with a blend that includes cumin, coriander, black pepper, and dried herbs alongside chilli, which produces a more complex and rounded flavour that does not simply get hotter as you eat more of it.

Bombay Mixture vs Khara Mixture

Bombay Mixture is a multi-component blend combining sev, dals, peas, peanuts, and gram flour pieces. It has a mixed texture and a moderately spiced flavour profile that appeals broadly.
Khara Mixture is the South Indian variant of the concept, typically dominated by ribbon sev and poha with a heavier use of curry leaves, mustard, and dried red chilli. It has a more intense, distinctly South Indian spice character.
Both are available at Dadu's. The right choice depends on how much heat and South Indian spicing you prefer.
